Adopting a Car

Adopting a Car

Like dogs and cats, car years
are different than human years.
One car year is four people years.
So, my auto was eighty years old,
and I adopted it when it was nine.

It was a faithful and loyal car,
at the end it showed signs of age.
We went to the auto clinic.
The mechanic found many
fatal problems and suggested
it was time to put it to rest.
The shop would do that task.

I found on line an auto to replace it.
A low mileage, recent vintage
sedan. Off I went to the dealer.

My new car was born nine months ago.
Hopefully we'll be happy
together for a long time.
