Into the woods,
    the treasure of nature
       part of the town's commonweal.

Hear the calls of
    cardinals, finches and chickadees.
     As it has been before me and will be after.

Hear the rustle of
   oaks, maples and pines.
As it has been before me and will be after.

Hear the quiet lapping of 
the pond on the beach.
   As it has been before me and will be after.

In this ancient patch
