to Recall
Every year there’s a memory day,
for us it comes at the end of May.
There is placed by the harbor, a stone,
a bench, for our parents, be it known.
Memorial Day I go with a meal.
and I sit with Mom and Dad, I feel.
People we have loved, now are gone,
of course then and now we do mourn,
recollection is important to us still here,
for there’s a debt to those we held dear.
