Outward and Inward Journeys

Glass assemblage highly abstract of meditating person on inward journey.

Outward and Inward Journeys

A misty noon in a café on the narrow road overlooking
rice terraces in the mountains of Luzon, I’m awed
by the grandeur of nature worked by man.
A frosty day in a diminutive tea house gazing at
a peaceful garden of moss and rocks in Kyoto, I sit
stunned by the bitter tea,  peace and  artistry.
A sandy haze at ancient engraved stone stelae
and ruins of dam at arid Marib, I’m enthralled
by the sweep from time immemorial to now.

Quiet days now - I’m entranced, both recalling
   those outward journeys and looking
   toward inward journeys and enlightenment.
