Lessons Learned

Up the coast comes the hurricane,
its coming teaches,
    it teaches
winds may damage,
  rain may harm,
   or it may just pass.

Up the coast come a hurricane,
     Learn what dust we are,
     Learn nature is power,
     Learn we must accept,
     Learn we can only react.

Up the coast comes a hurricane.
Nature teaches its various lessons,
not malicious,
      not benign,
impartial lessons.
