Survive January
We look back, remembering
the best,
we try if we can to forget
the rest.
We peer ahead hoping for
good,
for bright times we wish, as
we should.
But now we face bitter winds
and biting chill,
warm clothes and heated
rooms is our will.
We've seen warmth and colors
in the past,
flora with their sweet
aromas that didn't last.
Today we endure from day to
day,
we take what comes, as they
say.
In January's end we place
our hope,
through this month we still
must cope.
