As with you, so with myself
I don’t have, nor want, any pelf.
When I write, limpid is my style,
words are strung without guile
Pellucid should be each line,
meaning must show clear and fine.
I mustn’t lollygag when I write,
or I won‘t finish ‘til late a night.
Trenchant retorts I, at times, get,
but reading those, I don’t fret.
Funk might describe my days,
simple, ingenuous are my ways.
