my favorite body parts

I am partial to my eyes
to see DaVinci’s Mona Lisa,
to see a glorious full moon,
to see enthused  dancers on
the stage or on the beach.

I am partial to my ears
to hear Vivaldi’s Seasons,
to hear the birds sing,
to hear the laughter of
children and old folks.

I am partial to my nose
to smell the aroma of
a great meal and of
an apple orchard,
to smell the smells of home.

I am partial to my hands
to touch a Duckling Sculpture
in the Public Gardens
to touch an orange daylily
to touch the cheek of a love

I am partial to my tongue
to taste a lobster
to taste an ear of corn
to taste the joys of life
