gray day 2
the dreary sky, the unrelenting drizzle,
even the squirrels aren’t to be seen.
a day to stay dry, a day to regard the world,
as drops trickle down the window pane.
outside the world is gray.
inside the lamps are lit
cheerful color.
I gather, with corn meal,
the fixings to bake golden bread,
the homey bouquet wafts through the room.
maybe I’ll make a bowl in shades of red
from paper and paste.
I miss the sun
yet the dull day
has its place
for nature
for me.
